SCBWI SA - Welcome to 2025 Dinner

On Friday 21st February, the South Australian SCBWI community held their first event of the year. The Welcome to 2025 Dinner was a chance to greet new members, catch up with old friends and celebrate the fabulous community of creators in South Australia.

The dinner was made extra special as the amazingly talented author/illustrator Judith Rossel joined us. Judith shared her journey from illustrator to author, the highs and lows of her story and insights into the roller coaster of the publishing world. It is always inspiring to hear from members of the children’s literature community about how they navigate a creative life and Judith’s warm and generous talk did just that. Thank you.

The 2025 committee of Beverley McWilliams, Adam Cece, Danny Snell, Kristin Martin, David Lewis, and Charlie Archbold have lots of events planned to grow craft, connect with other members, and get those creative juices flowing. Our SCBWI SA members have also been super active writing and illustrating and there are many new books coming out this year. If our dinner on Friday was nything to go by 2025 promises to be an exciting one.

Oh…And if you are in Adelaide for Adelaide Writers’ Week, join us for our Post Kids and YA Day Soiree. A perfect opportunity for another gathering.
