The SCBWI Tasmania Creators retreat is back! Running over the March long weekend in tranquil Waddamana, it’s open to all children’s book writers and illustrators. A rare opportunity to spend time on creative projects with the chance to get feedback from other creatives. Get in touch to book your spot by 7 February!

Friday 7 March

• 3-6.00 pm  Check in.

• 6.30 pm Communal meal – bring a plate to share

• 7.30 pm Introductions for each creative and works-in-progress

Saturday 8 March

• 9.00 am Creative time

• 6.30 pm Pizza night

• 7.30 pm Sharing of works-in-progress

Sunday 9 March

• 9.00  am Creative time

• 6.30 pm Communal meal (bring a plate)

• 7.30 pm Sharing of works-in-progress

Monday 10 March

• 10 am Checkout

      About Waddamana

Waddamana is an old Hydro-Electric Commission village, close to the geographic centre of Tasmania. The nearest town is Ouse. The village is now in private hands and there is a museum open to the public.

Email scbwitasmania@gmail.com by Friday 7 February and let us know:

• about the creative project you’re working on

• if you have a preference to share a cottage with a particular person

• if you need transport or have room in your car

• any dietary restriction so we may be able to match you with others in a cottage

• whether, if you miss out on a room, you would consider a reduced-price camping or campervanning option.

Numbers are limited; we will let you know by Tuesday 11 Feb if you have been successful or placed on the waitlist.
