The CBCA Book of the Year Awards are Australia’s most prestigious and longest running literary prizes. The CBCA Book of the Year Awards were first presented in 1946, recognising children’s books of the highest literary and artistic merit. Past winners include a ‘who’s who’ of Australian greats, including Bob Graham, Libby Gleeson, Patricia Wrightson, Ruth Park, Ron Brooks, Margaret Wild, Paul Jennings. The winner of each Book of the Year category currently receives $12,000, with honour books receiving $4,000 with a total prize pool of over $105,000.

Your donation will help secure the Awards for future generations, support the growth of Australian children’s literature, and generate prize money for the Awards in perpetuity. No more than 10% of the money contributed by you or earned on investments of the fund will be applied for administrative purposes.
